4Let them eat dirt

Recent studies have shown that children who are exposed to more germs before their first birthday suffer less from allergies and asthma than their peers. While you want to keep your child safe at all times, exposure to dust, allergens and even some allergy-causing foods like peanuts can be very beneficial for your child’s health. Our constant presence around our children means that we often are present to stop them from placing anything unsavoury in their mouths, but keeping your child in too hygienic an environment can actually be harmful. If your child’s immune system is not exposed to natural germs and allergens when they are young, their immune system may overreact when exposed to it later in life.
