Summer is here, and you know what that means: the perfect excuse to celebrate summer! And how do we best experience this season with all of our senses? With a fragrance tailored for it. What notes define an “ultimate” summer scent? Anything you want- but typically they are thought of as beachy, breezy, sweet and reminiscent to sunscreen or any other warm weather activity. Ahead I’ve rounded up 5 great scents that will suit your every need whether its more lighthearted without too much sweetness (like citrus) or something deeper like spicy clove & cinnamon which can be just right during those cooler nights out on the town in late August when things cool off after sunset…

Beach Day by Victoria’s Secret

A perfect start to my list, (because you gotta start off strong). This scent is fresh and bright with notes of mandarin, papaya and a touch of sweet vanilla. Perfect for any sunny day at the beach or poolside lounging or if you are lucky enough to be spending a bit of your summer in the tropics.

Coconut Lime Verbana by Pacifica

Pacifica’s take on the summer day; fresh, tropical and breezy with notes of coconut water, lime verbena and light florals. This scent is one that you have to try for yourself! It is perfect as a room spray or in your hair, making it a great pick for a long summer evening.

Honeysuckle Haze by Bath and Body Works

This slightly-fruity floral scent is another one that I’d recommend as a room spray rather than an actual perfume. Notes of honeyed honeysuckle and blood orange are at the heart of this scent. It is definitely a sweet, cinnamony number for the warmer months ahead.

Lavender Chamomile by Lush Cosmetics

I’ve been wanting to try a Lush scent for awhile and I’m so glad I decided on this one! This fresh lavender & chamomile scent is perfect for the days you want to relax, when you are out in nature and just going with the flow.

This scent has notes of lavender phenones, chamomile florals and sandalwood as it’s base. It also comes in a great bar form so if this scent sounds good to you I recommend picking that up and trying it on your skin-solid form of perfume :)

Sunset Glow by Bath & Body Works

For a more complex summer scent, try this floral bouquet with notes of apple, wildflower honey, jasmine sambac and vanilla sandalwood. This is one of my favorite scents by Bath and Body Works for any time of year, but especially during the summer.

What are your favorite summer scents you keep in rotation? Let me know if you have tried any of these on my list! There are still a few more weeks till the end of August, so there’s still plenty of time to try new things
