A lot depends on your personality and age too. Some people want excitement in their 20s then peace later.
Do people actually end up happier in smaller US towns than big cities
I grew up around busy cities and lately I keep seeing people online romanticizing small towns. Lower stress, slower life, friendlier people etc. But I also wonder if people get bored fast or feel isolated after the novelty wears off.
Replies are mixed, with some loving slower small-town life and others missing opportunities and diversity from cities.

I tried small town life for a year and felt trapped honestly. Pretty at first but eventually I missed restaurants, events, diversity and just random energy around me.
I left a big city four years ago and my stress level honestly dropped a lot. Less traffic, quieter nights, people actually recognize each other. But you definitely sacrifice convenience and options.
