Follow the brand instructions if you want to protect the warranty. Most beds probably will not be ruined by one early night, but if the company clearly says wait, keep photos and documentation just in case.
Do you really have to wait 72 hours before sleeping on a mattress in a box?
My new mattress says wait up to 72 hours to fully expand. I need to sleep on it sooner. Will using it early ruin it?
People discuss whether sleeping on a boxed mattress before the full 72-hour expansion period causes problems.
Answers & Discussion
If you have somewhere else to sleep, waiting helps the mattress fully rise and air out. Mine looked almost full after six hours but gained a bit more height by the next day. I would give it at least several hours if possible.
I slept on mine the first night and it was fine, but it did feel better after another day. The 72 hours is often about full expansion and odor airing out. I would not panic if you need to use it sooner.
