I stopped wearing the most transfer-proof formulas every day. Some of them look amazing but feel like paint by the end of the night. For work I use a comfortable matte bullet lipstick instead of liquid lipstick. It does not last as long, but removal is much easier and my lips are healthier.
How do you remove long-wear lipstick without making your lips sore?
Long-wear lipstick stays on, which is great, but taking it off at night feels awful. My lips get sore from rubbing.
Users share gentle ways to remove matte and long-wear lipstick without scrubbing or drying out the lips.

I break it down in stages. First I blot with a tissue, then apply balm or oil and leave it while I remove the rest of my makeup. By the time I come back to my lips, the colour wipes off much more easily. Afterward I use a thick lip mask because long-wear formulas can be drying even when removed gently.
Oil is the only thing that works for me. I use a little cleansing balm or even plain facial oil, press it onto my lips, and let it sit for a minute before wiping gently. If I try to remove liquid lipstick with micellar water alone, I end up scrubbing and my lips feel raw.
