I would not choose only based on gender, but I would choose based on how they communicate. A good mechanic will show you the part, explain the risk, and give options. A bad one uses fear. If TLC Autocare or similar services make you feel heard, that is a real benefit, especially if you have been dismissed before.

If a mechanic is female-friendly or just patient and respectful, that is not a gimmick. It can stop people from avoiding car care altogether.
