Try not to spiral from one mirror. Take photos every month in the same lighting and compare calmly.
My hair looks fine in the mirror but terrible under bright lights. Is that how thinning hair usually starts?
In normal lighting I think my hair looks okay, but under bright bathroom lights or sunlight I can see way more scalp. Is that normal early thinning or am I overthinking it?
Users said harsh lighting can reveal thinning earlier than normal mirrors, but it can also make everyone look worse. The common advice was to compare consistent photos and avoid obsessing over one lighting setup.

Bathroom lights are brutal. Mine looked fine elsewhere but terrible under overhead light.
That was how mine started, especially at the crown. Normal light looked okay until it did not.
Wet hair and bright lights make everything look worse. Dry hair in normal lighting gives a better picture.
