My biggest affiliate marketing mistake was promoting products just because they had high commissions instead of because I actually believed they were useful. Early on, I saw some programs paying much more than others and thought that was the fastest way to make money. The problem was that the products weren\'t a great fit for my audience, so people either ignored the recommendations or clicked through and never bought anything.
What I learned is that trust is worth far more than a bigger commission rate. A product that pays 5% but genuinely helps people will usually outperform a product that pays 30% if your audience doesn\'t really need it. Once I started focusing on things I would honestly recommend to a friend, my results improved and I felt much better about the content I was publishing.
Another mistake was expecting quick results. Affiliate marketing looks easy when you watch YouTube videos about it, but building traffic and trust takes much longer than most people think.
