I honestly think the Liberal Party has done a lot of damage to housing affordability in Canada. For many young families, buying a home now feels almost impossible. Prices have become so expensive that even people with decent incomes struggle to save enough for a down payment.

I think housing will become more affordable than it is today, but I don\'t see prices going back to what previous generations paid. Too many people want to live in the same cities, and supply still isn\'t keeping up. The best outcome might be slower price growth rather than a major drop.

As someone who has been trying to buy a first home for the last few years, I\'ve stopped waiting for a huge housing crash. Every year people predict prices will fall dramatically, and every year something changes. Interest rates, immigration, construction costs, and housing shortages all seem to keep pressure on the market.

What I do think could happen is that incomes slowly catch up while more housing gets built. That would make things more affordable over time without requiring home prices to collapse. The problem is that for many average Canadians, especially younger buyers, even a modest home still feels out of reach right now.

I don\'t think the dream of homeownership is gone, but I do think people may need to adjust expectations about where they live, what type of property they buy, and how long it takes to save for a down payment.
