By hiring an FBI agent to murder his wife, he now faces both imprisonment and a fine.

US authorities said that a man from Massachusetts recently tried to hire a professional killer to kill his wife, only to find out later that the latter was a federal agent working undercover to trap him.

The US Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts issued a statement saying that Massimo Marenghi, 56, now faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, after he pleaded guilty to attempted murder .

And according to the American New York Post, the man met with the “secret agent” to tell him of his desire to get rid of his wife, who had obtained a court order not to abuse her.
