A sweat-stained shirt worn by American basketball legend Michael Jordan during a training session at the 1992 Olympics will go up for auction in Los Angeles in June, with prices expected to range between $400,000 and $600,000.
The auction for a white shirt with red, white, and blue decorations bearing the signature of the player will take place between June 23 and 25 as part of the “Sports Legends” collection of sports collectibles.
According to the director of Julian’s, Cody Frederick, the amount earned from the sale of Jordan’s collections will be utilized for a women’s and children’s health center located in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya.
An auction is being held for several famous athletes’ personal belongings, including a soccer jersey worn by Brazilian legend Pele in 1971, as well as the possessions of basketball player Kobe Bryant, boxer Floyd Mayweather, soccer star Diego Maradona, and tennis player Rafael Nadal.
