GBT Truth is Musk weapon to confront Microsoft and Google

According to a report by Reuters, on Monday, billionaire Elon Musk announced his plan to launch an artificial intelligence platform called “TruthGPT” that will compete with similar products offered by Microsoft and Google.

According to Musk, ChatGPT – developed by OpenAI (which is now a for-profit organization with ties to Microsoft) – has trained its AI to lie. Musk also believes that OpenAI is no longer an open-source platform for artificial intelligence.

During an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Musk stated that Larry Page, the co-founder of Google, does not take AI safety seriously. Musk also mentioned his plan to create an AI named “Truth-GPT” or “Maximum Truth-Seeking Artificial Intelligence” that will try to comprehend the nature of the universe.

He suggested that “Truth GPT” could be the safest way to approach this technology. He also mentioned that he began late but will attempt to develop another choice.

Reuters requested comments from Musk, OpenAI, Microsoft, and Big, but they have not provided a response yet.

The story of Musk reminds me of President Donald Trump’s situation with social media platforms. He was banned from these platforms, which prompted him to build his own platform called “Truth Social”.

According to Reuters, Musk is reportedly seeking to hire artificial intelligence employees from Alphabet, the parent company of Google, to start a new venture that would compete with Open AI.

According to a government filing, last month Musk registered a new company named X.AI Corp, which was founded in Nevada. Musk is listed as the sole director while Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk’s family office, is listed as the secretary.

civilizational destruction

Despite and a team of AI experts and industry leaders calling for a 6-month pause on developing systems stronger than OpenAI’s latest release, GPT-4, due to potential risks to society posed by new technology, the development continued.

During the interview with Carlson, Musk repeated his concerns about the dangers of AI, stating that it has the potential to bring about the destruction of civilization, which is more perilous than mishandled aircraft design, substandard auto production, or poor production maintenance.

Over the weekend, Musk tweeted that he had met former US President Barack Obama during his presidency and had urged him to promote the regulation of AI in Washington.

In 2015, Musk co-founded Open AI, but he stepped down from the board of directors in 2018. He explained in a tweet in 2019 that he had to shift his focus to Tesla and SpaceX, which is why he resigned from Open AI.

Last year, Musk purchased the social media platform Twitter for $44 billion and became CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX.

Last January, Microsoft announced that it was investing billions of dollars in “Open AI”. This announcement intensified competition with rival Google and spurred a race to attract financing for artificial intelligence projects in Silicon Valley.
