Earthquake Syria and Turkey
It is noteworthy that at dawn on Monday, February 6, an earthquake of 7.7 degrees struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed hours later by another with a magnitude of 7.6 and hundreds of violent aftershocks, which left huge losses of lives and property in both countries.
According to the latest data today, February 9, 2023, about the earthquake, the number of victims in Turkey has risen to 12,873, while the number of injured has reached 62,937.
As for Syria, the number of victims has risen to 3,162 across the country, and the number of injured has reached 5,685. However, this number is subject to a very large increase. As the lack of existing capabilities impedes search and rescue operations in light of the dwindling hopes of finding more survivors under the rubble 3 days after the disaster.
