Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, said he would support Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis if he ran for the US presidential elections scheduled for 2024.
In a tweet, Musk stated that he would prefer a sane and moderate candidate – as he described it. He went on to say that even though Joe Biden is currently president, he has been disappointed with the lack of progress made so far.
But freedom of speech is the bedrock of a strong democracy and must take precedence.

My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. I had hoped that would the case for the Biden administration, but have been disappointed so far.
The Twitter platform corrected a serious mistake by banning the account of former President Donald Trump, which was done despite the former president not violating any terms of use or committing anything illegal, as he put it.
By banning a president during his term of office, half the American public’s confidence in Twitter was shaken, as confirmed by Musk.
After Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington on January 6, 2021, the Twitter administration – along with other socail platforms – decided to permanently ban Trump’s account.
While Trump said he has no intention of returning to Twitter, he noted that his new platform – Truth Social– is developed by his company and boasts better user interaction than Twitter.
Musk purchased the “Blue Bird” platform for $44 billion at the end of October.
