Today, on Sunday, President Vladimir Putin of Russia stated that his nation is committed to negotiating with all sides involved in the Ukrainian conflict.

In a state television interview, he attested to their victory by affirming: “Unquestionably, we are going the right way. We safeguard our nation’s interests and those of its people—it is not an option for us but rather an obligation to protect our citizens,” as reported by Reuters news agency.

Continuing his statement, he declared that they are prepared to negotiate with all the parties involved for a suitable resolution; however, it is ultimately up to them. It is not their fault if negotiations fail since they have invited everyone concerned to join in on talks – but sadly those who do reject dialogue will be blamed.

Putin declared with absolute certainty that the Russian military could annihilate the Patriot air defense system, soon to be in Ukraine’s possession from the U.S., but Kiev quickly retorted by stating Russia is avoiding negotiations and disregarding their responsibilities.

When asked about a certain matter by a journalist from Russia-1 TV channel, Putin gave an emphatic response: “Without doubt, we will annihilate it – 100 percent!” This short clip was afterwards aired on the public television.

Last week, the Washington administration revealed a fresh military aid package during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit ,including Patriot air defense system.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken declared, “For the first time ever, the United States will supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems.”

During his address, Blinken announced the massive investment of $1.85 billion in security assistance and air defense development for Ukraine.

For the first time, today’s assistance package includes the Patriot air defense system–a revolutionary tool that can intercept intercontinental missiles, short-range ballistic missiles, and aircrafts at altitudes higher than any previously deployed defense systems. As Blinken noted in a statement: “This is an exceptional accomplishment.”

During a milestone visit to Washington, DC and his first international journey since the onset of Russian aggression in Ukraine on February 24th, President Volodymyr Zelensky proclaimed at a joint press conference with US President Joe Biden that Kyiv’s procurement of American Patriot air defense systems would significantly bolster its defenses. He accentuated that this is an essential move in establishing secure airspace for Ukraine.

President Zelensky reaffirmed that a just peace cannot be achieved without upholding Ukraine’s sovereignty and respecting its territorial boundaries.

President Joe Biden addressed his Ukrainian ally, confidently stating “You will never be alone”. This indicated that the Western alliance would stay unified in their support of Ukraine. Furthermore, he spoke out against Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ongoing war campaign on Ukraine – calling it “horrific” – and explicitly noted how even orphanages and schools were targets.
