Scientists determine the best time of day for weight loss exercises

For those with a desire to shed some pounds, early morning exercise is the most promising time of day according to science. That being said, this may be an unachievable goal for a select few.

According to the British Daily Mail, Swedish scientists argue that exercising in the morning is one of the best ways for a person to shed those extra pounds.

Despite being conducted on mice, the study of Swedish scientists yielded a beneficial outcome for humans.

Mice are the predominant species chosen for animal testing, due to their similar genetic and biological makeup that mirrors our own.

The scientists observed the biological processes of these rodents, which engaged in physical activities at dawn and dusk.

They observed that mice which were physically active during the morning hours had a more efficient metabolism, allowing them to convert food into energy at a faster rate.

Engaging in physical activity releases hundreds of molecules that create a multitude of health benefits, like promoting better sleep quality, increasing memory retention, and enhancing overall body functions as well as metabolism.

Depending on the timing of their physical activity.

The researchers observed how these signals manifested in two different mouse cohorts. One group exercised on a treadmill during the morning hours, while the other completed their workout at nightfall.

Subsequently, experts conducted an analysis of the mice’s blood samples and inspected their brains, hearts, muscles, liver and body fat.

A recent study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, has revealed groundbreaking results.

After studying the mice, scientists observed that the genes associated with fat metabolism and energy production had heightened activity in those exercising during morning hours – suggesting they resultantly have a greater impact on their metabolic rate.

The rate at which a person metabolizes their calories is central to the success of any weight-loss program. When this metabolic process operates efficiently, it enables individuals to burn more calories and lose weight quickly.

Jolene Zerath, the biologist studying this topic, stated that her findings demonstrated that morning exercise could be more advantageous than evening activity in terms of metabolism and burning fat.

However, I mentioned that more studies are needed.
