However, there are still ways you can refresh your property without emptying your savings account too much. In fact, there are many different affordable luxuries you can spend some cash on that will make your place look much more appealing and expensive on a budget.

Declutter First

Clutter and mess are not only stressful to look at and be around when you’re at home, but they make a house look less than luxurious, too. After all, think about all the super chic, high-end hotels and designer homes you’ve seen pictures of or been in over the years, and you’ll realize that a vast array of “stuff” everywhere the eye looks isn’t part of that picture.

Before you start adding little luxuries to your abode, stop and strip back your current belongings so that whatever you do incorporate has the chance to stand out and be showcased properly. When you declutter each room, you can better decide on a particular piece of furniture, piece of art, architectural element, view, or other factor to shine in that space and get a feeling of true luxury as a result.

Put on a Fresh Coat of Paint

Another great way to make your home feel more special, updated, interesting, and chic is to give all the walls and ceiling a fresh coat of paint. You might add a feature wall in a contrasting or complementary shade to the hue used elsewhere on walls to create more impact or add some paint effects or cute trims.

Your property will look brighter and more modern with a new coat of paint, and you’ll get the impression that you’re in a more luxurious space in turn. Painting doesn’t cost a huge amount when you do the job yourself, although you may want to enlist some friends or family members to help you finish the work, so it doesn’t take too long.

Swap Out Old Fans and Lights and Switches

It’s hard for rooms to come across as luxurious as possible if they have outdated fittings and fixtures. As such, look to make changes in this area ASAP. For example, switch out old lampshades and other lighting options and switches with elegant, of-the-now pieces, and you’ll immediately notice a big difference.

The same goes for replacing ancient fans and HVAC units with modern ones. These days you’ll see many good-looking ceiling fan products to select from, many of which have lighting handily incorporated. They operate by remote or even apps on your smartphone, too, and can be made from sustainable materials and come in colors and styles to suit all rooms and design aesthetics.

Update Hardware

Similarly, look at other areas where you can update hardware to make your home suit 2022 tastes and make it more luxurious and appealing for you and your family and guests. For instance, you could swap out an old front door, rusted mailbox, vintage (but not in a good way) doorknobs and handles, noisy or leaking faucets, etc.

Add More Mirrors

You’ve probably heard that adding mirrors into spaces in homes makes areas look larger and brighter. This is true, but these reflective surfaces also help to make properties feel more luxurious. The more spaces appear large and open, the more high-class and beautiful they come across. Plus, exquisite mirrors can also act like works of art to dress up walls. You don’t have to buy brand new mirrors, either. You can often find impressive options at thrift stores, garage sales, in classifieds advertisements online and in papers, and elsewhere.
