The intensity of the Russian bombing has intensified for several days. On Thursday night, explosions were heard in Kiev, hours after the authorities announced the downing of about 30 explosive drones sent by Russia.
This comes a day after Russia announced that it had shot down two drones that were targeting the Kremlin, in what it considered a “terrorist” attempt to assassinate President Vladimir Putin. While mystery still surrounds the operation, Ukraine has denied its connection to the most dramatic attack attributed to it since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
The Russian authorities did not provide any proof, and it is impossible to verify the authenticity of the videos broadcast by Russian media, which show a small drone approaching the Kremlin before exploding and sending a mass of flames.
Ukraine accused Russia of “orchestrating” the operation to justify a possible escalation of the conflict, without providing any evidence in turn.
