On a dreadful Friday morning, 16th December 2022, tragedy struck the city of Lyon when 10 people were tragically reported dead by local authorities – including 5 innocent children – in an alarming fire that broke out at a residential building in Von Flan.
According to the authorities, the cause of this devastating fire remains unknown and currently over 170 firefighters are attempting to contain it.

Adding that the fire broke out in the early hours of Friday morning, in a residential building consisting of 7 floors, and the local authorities indicated that a security cordon was imposed around the site of the fire.
While the Minister Delegate responsible for cities and housing, Olivier Klein, said on Twitter that he had “asked the local authorities to secure support” and that he would “go to the place to be with the residents.”
