Watch…A bridge in Baltimore collapsed when it collided with a ship.

Video clips – Shared on social media platforms, a video captured the collapse of sections of a massive bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, on the east coast of America earlier today, Tuesday, following a collision with a large ship.

Video footage released on platform “X” depicted the ship crashing into a pillar of the Francis Scott K Bridge, resulting in the complete destruction of sections. According to The Associated Press, the ship ignited and seemed close to sinking.

Conversely, The New York Times verified that the full extent of the damage to the 3-kilometer-long bridge, inaugurated in 1977, remains uncertain.

CBS News reported that the Baltimore City Fire Department confirmed “at least 7 people” were in the river during the accident. Diving and rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene to search for them.

The vessel tracking site “Marine Traffic” displayed a container ship with the Singapore flag and named “Dali” docked under the bridge earlier today.

The exact number of vehicles on the bridge at that moment remains unclear. However, fire officials confirmed that a sizable tractor-trailer was present on top of it.

The state transportation authority announced the closure of all navigation routes in both directions following the accident, signifying a shift in traffic patterns.
