Starting out on YouTube doesn’t have to be challenging. If you’re ready to stand out from the rest, you’re going to want to take a look at the following five tricks.
1. Brand Your YouTube Videos
Branding is especially important if you plan to monetize your videos. You should not just have a logo and catchy phrase on your channel but also a sense of brand in the videos themselves. If you do your job right, your videos will be shared on other sites. You want your fans to recognize your brand instantly, without necessarily being on YouTube. Check out some ideas on how to brand your video below:
- Wear branding merchandise (anything with your brand on it, really…make it unique like your brand)
- Watermark of logo at the beginning and end of video
- Create a unique background if your location is always the same.
Take away: Branding is about fluidity and consistency. It makes your videos unique and makes you stand out from the crowd.
2. Use Calls to Action
Successful videos always seem to say something like “thanks for watching, please subscribe.” And maybe you have wondered what this is or why other successful youtubers do it. A call to action like this is not only a way to end your videos nicely and without going into an awkward silence, but is also very effective.
Take away: using a call to action like “thanks for watching, please subscribe” makes for a great ending to your video without trailing off.
3. Audience Involvement
Right after your call to action you will want to engage your audience. You should ask your audience to tell you what they think in the comments below. Audience involvement shows newcomers that other viewers not only watch your videos, they care enough to comment on them. This encourages new video watchers to “see what all the fuss is about.”
Take away: Ending your video with something like “let me know what you think in the comments below” is a great and effective way engage your audience and get them to participate.
4. Optimize your Video Titles
Titles are extremely important. An eye-catching title should:
- Show your brand/personality
- Use Keywords
- Stand out
Take this OK title: “How to wear everyday makeup” and turn it into this eye-catching (viewer spiking) title: “The magic trick to wearing flawless everyday makeup”
Take away: Never underestimate the power of titles and spend a good amount of time crafting an eye-catching title.
5. Pay Attention to Comments
Getting comments is great. Getting spammed, however, is not that great. Comments that don’t pertain to your video or are helpful in any way really don’t belong on your video page. You have a delete button-use it. The last thing you want is your viewer to be distracted by spam or an inappropriate comment.
Take away: cleaning up your comment section shows your viewers a clean and up kept comments section that doesn’t take away but adds to your videos.
The most important thing to remember is to take it one (or five) steps at a time. You follow these steps and you will be well on your way to a stand out channel in no time. Remember to leave your comments below! want more Video Editing tips visit Editing Insider
