A child from Ohio died tragically after taking a dangerous challenge on the social networking site Tik Tok that has become popular.

According to the New York Post, Jacob Stevens, a 13-year-old from Ohio, died from a drug overdose while attempting a dangerous challenge to impress his followers.

The challenge involves taking an unsafe amount of antihistamines, specifically between 12 and 14 tablets, to induce hallucinations. It’s important to note that this quantity exceeds the recommended dosage by health authorities by six times.

Antihistamines are a type of medication that can alleviate various discomforts, including those resulting from allergies, flu, and similar conditions, from a medical standpoint.

Justin, the father of Jacob Stevens who passed away, stated that his son had been with his friends over the weekend and overdosed on drugs.

The child’s body had a significant swelling after consuming an overdose of antihistamines, likely due to their young age.

Critical condition

The child was admitted to the hospital and put on a ventilator. He remained in critical condition for six days before passing away.

The father felt a profound impact from his son’s passing and regarded the day of his departure as the most terrible day of his life.

The doctors informed the father that even with a respirator, the child would not regain normal bodily functions such as opening his eyes, breathing without assistance, smiling, walking, or speaking. Sadly, the child later passed away.

Young people have been participating in risky and dangerous actions to gain more followers on TikTok, which has resulted in numerous fatalities over the years. This trend of dangerous challenges is worth noting.
