Is the world on the brink of an internet blackout? The answer is here

As NASA issues a warning about a potential solar storm approaching Earth, rumors are spreading on social networking sites that the Internet will be disconnected worldwide in a week. This news has sparked concern and panic among users.

But the US Space Research Agency confirmed in a previous official statement that everything that is being circulated about Internet outages around the world is just rumors that have no basis in truth.

NASA called on not to believe these rumors and to rely on reliable sources to obtain information, adding that no threats or evidence are indicating that the Internet will be disrupted, and therefore individuals and companies can stay away from anxiety and fear about this matter.

Incorrect

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, a non-profit organization concerned with ensuring an independent, secure, and single global Internet network, known as “ICANN,” also denied: The rumors currently being circulated about the interruption of Internet services around the world are not true.

A rumor that has been raised several times

The global Internet outage is just a rumor that was raised several times years ago and has returned to the forefront today due to talk about solar storms, according to the scientific magazine “LiveScience”.

The scientific magazine also stated that it is not yet known the extent of the impact of these severe solar storms on modern technology, given that the last storm of this intensity occurred a very long time ago before technology reached what it is today.

Severe solar storms are known as massive eruptions of solar wind, plasma consisting of light isotopes, and magnetic fields that extend beyond the solar corona. These storms have the potential to inflict significant damage on electrical grids, resulting in prolonged power outages.
