After camera footage revealed Marie O’Connor, Tampa Police Chief, speaking to a cop during a traffic stop for her husband’s golf cart while showing her badge and revealing her position as police chief, she has been placed on administrative leave.
According to the sheriff’s office, Chief of Police Mary O’Connor and her husband were stopped while driving a golf cart on the road.

The golf cart wasn’t properly licensed to be on the road. O’Connor gave the officer her business card and said, “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me.”
In an official statement, the mayor said, “We will hold everyone accountable for their actions, regardless of their position. This behavior is unacceptable, and Police Chief O’Connor will be subject to due process and appropriate discipline.”
