The Louisville Police Department, Kentucky, said five people were killed and six others wounded in a shooting that occurred Monday at a downtown bank.

The police said in a statement after confirming the attack, the shooter was killed, without elaborating. It is not yet clear if the attacker was among the five dead.

Louisville Deputy Police Chief Paul Humphrey told reporters, “We don’t know the exact circumstances of his death at this time.”

Police said they acted within minutes of receiving reports of an attacker at around 1230 GMT (1230 GMT) at the Old National Bank near Slugger Field in the center of the city of 625,000.

While the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) indicated that its agents went to the scene.

Shooting

According to a witness who spoke to WDRB, a local Fox affiliate, when they were stopped at a traffic light, they saw a man lying at the entrance of a hotel across the street from the intersection.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said he drove to the city after the shooting.
