We live in a world of digital devices and are plugged into technology everywhere we go. The wireless network that connects all of our devices gives us access to numerous tools, apps, and websites. That’s why it’s important to have consistent access to 5G through our providers such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and many others. With the new advancements in 5G technology, we can now get faster and more stable connections for all of the users.

You will be able to get extra bandwidth, increased signals, and quicker access to all of your applications and devices. No longer will you have to sit around and wait for your mobile device to stream, download, or use applications at high speeds. With 5G technology, you will have more stable connections and increased internet speeds.

· What Is 5G?

5G is what we call a fifth-generation network that provides your phone with service. Many users are either on 4G or LTE networks, but these services aren’t as advanced as 5G networks. You’ll find that AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint have all made 5G services available, but they will continue to provide their users with either 2G/4G/LTE networks up until 2021. The fifth generation wireless broadband networks offer better speeds and coverage that are incredibly advanced when compared to 4G/LTE services.

·  What Are The Advantages?

Each new network brings its users faster and more reliable service and internet connections when they are out and about with their mobile devices. In the early 1980’s, cell phones were made available to the public. Since then, 2G networks allowed users to have more efficient phone services and gave them access to text messaging. Since 3G was around, smartphones were then invented and gave users data plans and stable connections. While all of these networks have upgraded, the newest one has been 4G/LTE connections which provided all of its users with fast speed connections and streaming.

Now with 5G, we will get faster speeds with data transfers, of up to 10 times higher than 4G networks. Faster transmissions of videos, streams, and images will be ensured. You will also get quick access to downloading speeds which will only take up to a few seconds. 5G also provides you with shorter delays and decreases your chances of having a slow network connection. Lastly, you will get increased connectivity as more cell towers are being built with 5G technology and will be available to you at almost every single location.

·  Which Phones Are Supported?

The reality of this situation is that 2G phones couldn’t connect to 3G or 4G networks, which means that you won’t be able to connect to a 5G network if your phone doesn’t support it. This means you will have to upgrade to a new phone. Many 5G phones are pricey, but they aren’t that much more than other 4G/LTE phones that are already on the market. Luckily for you, many new smartphones have been designed to handle 5G connections, but it’s still recommended to purchase a new phone once 5G services have been made public to everyone. This way you can ensure that the chip in your phone supports 5G and can provide you with a stable connection. We would not suggest you upgrade to 5G phones if you happen to live in a remote area, as the towers are still being installed with 5G technology.

· When Can I Get 5G?

It’s hard to say precisely when 5G phones and services will be released, as each company has their marketing plan when it comes to providing its customers with access to 5G networks. So far, we know that Intel and Samsung both introduced 5G networks at the Winter Olympics, where it was used to live stream the event. Other companies such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon are still in the process of developing and testing their 5G services and are expecting to provide their users with 5G access by the end of 2018. There are predictions that by the end of the 2019 year, we will see major advancements to 5G networks and phones; and they will be released to the public in flexible packages and services from the providers as mentioned above.

Conclusion

As you can see, 5G technology is still being tested and developed by most major network providers. If you wish to get your hands on the newest 5G phones, you’ll have to wait to upgrade. Keep in check with your local providers, as they will be able to tell you precisely when they will be selling phones that support 5G connections. If you live in an area that doesn’t have many cell towers, we would highly recommend that you wait until the end of the 2019 year to upgrade your phone. You don’t have to make the switch to 5G, as 4G/LTE services will still be provided for the next few years. But, for those of you who want access to faster networks and connections can make the switch when it’s available.
