Six people, including 3 students, were killed, Monday, in a shooting accident that occurred at a private school in Nashville, Tennessee.

And the police announced that they had killed the attacker who opened fire, and stated that she was a 28-year-old woman, after she had previously said that she was a teenager.

“Three students and three church school staff were killed by the shooter, identified as a 28-year-old woman from Nashville,” police said in a tweet.

The police have not yet disclosed the reason for the woman’s attack, nor did she specify her connection to the school.

The police killed the woman after an exchange of gunfire on the first floor of the school building. The attacker was in possession of two assault rifles and a handgun.

The police and the Nashville Fire Department had announced, earlier, that they had dealt with a shooting incident at a school belonging to a church in Burton Hills.

After the incident, the White House again called on Congress to work on legislation that would place restrictions on assault weapons.

According to the Gun Violence Archive website , the Tennessee incident, Monday, is the 129th mass shooting in the United States so far in 2023.

The website defines a “mass shooting” as the shooting of at least four people, excluding the shooter.
