When her husband decided to run for president again in 2024, Melania Trump saw it as an opportunity for “success and prosperity.”
“I stand by my husband as he announces his candidacy for the presidency,” Melania said in a press release. “During his time as president, he accomplished many great things that positively impacted all of us, and I know he can do it again.” She concluded her statement with optimism, saying “I eagerly await the day when my husband returns to lead an America that is peaceful, loving and safe.”
The former president, who unsuccessfully tried to overturn the 2020 election results, has announced his campaign for a second term. His team submitted the necessary paperwork to run to the Federal Election Commission, and he formally launched his candidacy with a speech saying “The return of America begins now.”
Trump stated that his wife had a tough time while he was in office. “It wasn’t enjoyable for a great first lady,” he said. “She didn’t have any fun.”
He explained that when he came home, she said he looked angry and upset. When he told her to leave him alone, it wasn’t easy, but she was a great First Lady and people loved her.
While Trump’s daughter Ivanka was not in attendance at her father’s political campaign debut, she did issue a statement to “Fox News.” In it, she said that while she loves him very much, her children and private family life are currently her top priorities. Additionally, Ms. Trump stated that politics is not something she plans on becoming involved in.
She continued by saying that she will always love and support her father, but outside of the political realm. She is proud to have served the American people and be a part of her father’s administration with all its accomplishments.
