Reports: Biden will announce his candidacy for a second presidential term next week

According to US media reports, President Joe Biden may announce his candidacy for the next presidential election next week, with the aim of securing a second term. This could potentially lead to a rematch against former President Donald Trump.

On Thursday, there were reports from the Washington Post and The New York Times quoting Biden’s aides that the announcement might happen through a video next Tuesday. However, they also mentioned that there is a possibility that the announcement could be delayed.

According to The New York Times, Biden has invited campaign donors to come to Washington at the end of next week, suggesting that campaign plans are becoming more intense.

Reports suggest that if Biden wins the presidential election, he would be 82 years old at the start of his second term.

Some Democrats are uncertain if Biden, who will be 81 years old, is the most suitable candidate for the party.

In November of last year, Trump, who is a member of the Republican party and is 76 years old, announced his candidacy for the 2024 Presidential election. However, he is currently facing multiple civil and criminal legal cases.
