On Thursday, November 17, 2022, the American website “Business Insider” revealed that Twitter had suddenly closed all its offices and denied entry to employees at the request of owner Elon Musk.

Company officials announced to employees that, due to the current situation, all buildings are temporarily closed. Additionally, they will not be able to enter as their access cards have been deactivated.

Musk gave his company’s employees an ultimatum of working long hours or being fired, according to an internal memo published by US media. His practices have come under fire because of the changes he made to the company after acquiring it.

The employees were asked to enter a link to confirm their commitment to the “new Twitter”, and the memo stated that if they did not follow through with confirmation, they would be fired and given 3 months salary as compensation.

After previously firing 50% of workers, Musk has now canceled the policy that allowed employees to work from home and is demanding long working hours.

Elon Musk caused a stir when he announced the dissolution of the Twitter board of directors, after his successful acquisition of the company. However, Elon Musk is not currently living his best life.

Even though he’s 51 years old, American billionaire remains number one on the world’s richest people list. And, it seems he will continue to do whatever he wants on Twitter- negative consequences be damned.

Musk initially caused a stir last April when he offered to buy Twitter for $44 billion, but later retracted the deal. After months of drama and court battles, Musk has finally completed the acquisition of Twitter.
