Meghan Markle’s half-sister sues her for defamation: ‘I was humiliated on a global scale’

Samantha Markle has accused her half-sister, Meghan Markle, of defaming her with the aim of “covering up” the story of her “getting rich” that Samantha mentioned in her book.

During a virtual court hearing, Samantha Markle’s lawyer appeared with her to discuss the defamation case that she brought against her half-sister. The legal representative then claimed Meghan resorted to public criticism of Samantha because the latter had threatened to reveal important information about the former.

On the other hand, Meghan’s lawyers, who also attended the hearing, rejected the allegations, explaining that they were inappropriate and offensive to the former Suits star, and demanded that the case be dismissed due to its significant flaws.

Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell said she would issue her ruling at a later time, admitting that she was working hard to find out how Meghan released the data.

Last year, Samantha dramatically filed a lawsuit against Meghan demanding $75,000 in retribution for the contentious accusations that she made during her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. It is particularly remarkable to note this litigation.

Samantha also claimed that Meghan made false and malicious statements about her in the book, “Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan, and the Making of the Modern Royal Family” in 2020.

Samantha said at the time that the allegations had exposed her to “humiliation, shame and hatred on a global scale.”
