More than 30 suspicious mail reach deputies and officials in the US state of Kansas

Authorities in Kansas said that US government agencies and the FBI are investigating dozens of letters sent to state officials and lawmakers that contain a “suspicious” white powder.

An ABC News report quoted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation as saying that “30 such mail have been reported in the state.”

The office added in a statement that “law enforcement authorities are working to collect and investigate messages in a safe manner,” noting that no injuries have been reported due to these messages, calling for caution in dealing with mail.

State government officials said they received anonymous letters in the mail containing the white powder, which called for the cooperation of Kansas law enforcement authorities to deal with the matter.
