Leonard’s sister is sentenced to life in prison for the murder of an elderly woman

The sister of Los Angeles Clippers basketball player Kawhi Leonard has been sentenced to life without parole for the murder of an 84-year-old woman.

Kimisha Williams, along with Candace Townsell, was charged with murder, theft and elder abuse in February over the horrific attack on Afaf Assad in 2019.

Mercury News reported that the couple followed Afaf Assad into the bathroom at the Pechanga Resort casino in Temecula, California, where Leonard’s sister entered the bathroom, while Townsell stood guard, watching for any potential witnesses.

But Asad, who was in possession of a wallet containing gambling money, was found with a fractured skull and a bleeding head after the horrific attack, and died four days later.

While there were no witnesses to Williams and Townsell’s crime, a woman noticed that the couple quickly exited the casino after hearing a sound in the bathroom.

And Mary, the daughter of the lion, revealed in a statement affecting the victim that the killing left her and her father in a state of breakdown, but despite this, Leonard’s sister claimed in a statement read by her lawyer that she was not responsible for the death of a lion, and she said: “I am very sorry for your loss, I was praying for you and your family.” Every day, I am not responsible for Mrs. Assad’s death.”

She added, “Although the courts found me guilty of the charges, we all know the truth, and that there is only one judge, God, and he knows the truth.”
