Mozy Review 2016

The user interface in Mozy is pretty straightforward, especially the Mozy Home desktop app that automatically detects files to backup on your first run. The app is active and mostly automated after your first backup , updating backed up files on the fly between your devices and their data centers..

Mozy gives you a free 2GB account, with no credit card or any type of trial offer. It’s that simple, just sign-up and get your free 2GB. This is great if you want to backup a small amount of critical data, or just experiment to see if the Mozy Service is good for you.

Features Set
MozyHome now offers both backup and Mozy Stash file sync, so it’s easier than ever to get your important files to your secure Mozy location online as well as between computers and mobile devices. with Mozy Stach your personal files will automatically sync with the Stash folder on your computers, and there’s no need to wait for a backup to start. Drop a file in your Stash and it gets pushed to Mozy immediately. Mozy Stach uses 256 bit Encryption (Industry Standard is 128 bits) – This online store service installs quickly and is easy to use. After installation, you can back up data using the service’s sensible default or manually select the files and folders you want to store in the cloud. After that, the service pretty much runs itself. As easy as it is to use.

Mozy offers very little beyond basic backup capabilities. The service allows you to schedule backups and initiate automatic incremental backups, meaning backups only occur if changes to existing files have been made or new files have been added. You can also upload any files of any size. What the service lacks is any file sharing capabilities and file versioning..

Mozy Features include:

  • 125 GB Of Backup Space
  • 3 Computers In Sync
  • Mobile, Desktop And Web Access
  • File Versioning
  • Can be used on multiple computers or devices

Mozy makes your file security a priority. offering 126 AES encryption enabled on all file transfers to Amazon Cloud Storage, Your files are transferred securely using TLS (Transport Layer Security) and are stored in the cloud in an encrypted format using 128-bit AES—the same level of protection used for online financial transactions.

Storage Space
Mozy offer Free 2 GB cloud storage space. and available plans you can pick to fit your digital lifestyle starter plan for 50 GB for $5.99/month or 125 GB for $9.99/month.

Overall Mozy provides a good backup and storage option, and it’s an excellent way to backup your files into the cloud. the main downside is the pricing and storage limits.

I don’t know how you gave this app 4 stars. It is dreadful. I paid for a 2-year backup service and downloaded this app so I could access my files anywhere at any time, just as they claim. But the one time, the one single time I needed the app to work for me it let me down miserably. A total and utter failure of an app. When trying to access my files through the app it just sat there spinning until it eventually crashed. So I never got to access my files like they claimed I would!!! I don’t put up with that kind of crap so I cancelled my membership and asked for pro-rated refund. Only problem is that won’t refund any of your money after 90 days!! A total rip off organization if there ever was one. A miserable, total, and utter failure of an application. Must have been designed, coded, and tested by monkeys. No wait, that’s an insult to monkeys…
